    The Marine Mammal Center

    The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito (San Francisco Bay Area) is the world's largest marine mammal hospital, rescuing and rehabilitating sick and injured seals, sea lions, dolphins, and whales along the California coast. They also conduct scientific research on ocean health and run education programs connecting the public to marine conservation

    Blue Whales Blue Skies

    Whales Blue Skies is a voluntary vessel speed reduction program that incentivizes shipping companies to slow to 10 knots or less through critical habitat zones off California, reducing the risk of fatal whale strikes, cutting greenhouse gas emissions, and lowering underwater noise pollution. In 2024 alone, participating vessels reduced the risk of fatal ship strikes to endangered whales by approximately 50%

    Whale Seeker is a Montreal-based startup that uses AI and aerial imagery to make marine mammal detection fast, accurate, and accessible, bridging the gap between sustainability and profitability for governments, NGOs, and industry clients. Whale Seeker Their tools support marine regulation compliance, environmental impact assessments, and ultimately the protection of marine mammals and seabirds across a range of scales.

    Intersectional Environmentalist

    Founded by environmental activist Leah Thomas, Intersectional Environmentalist is a platform and advocacy organization that explores the connections between social justice and environmentalism, arguing that true ecological protection must also address racial and systemic inequity. They produce educational resources and community-building campaigns that center the voices of people most impacted by environmental harm.

  • Happy Whale

    HappyWhale is a citizen science platform that allows researchers and whale watchers around the world to upload photos of marine mammals, using AI-powered photo-identification to track individual animals across oceans and build a shared global database. The platform has helped identify tens of thousands of individual whales, dolphins, and seals, turning everyday encounters into meaningful long-term conservation data.

  • Pacific Islands Heritage Coalition

    Formed in 2014, the Pacific Islands Heritage Coalition works to protect and amplify the cultural, natural, and historical legacy of remote Pacific islands, atolls, and reefs, bringing together elders, fishers, navigators, scientists, and cultural practitioners from across the Pacific and beyond. Protectpih Their vision is a connected, healthy Pacific where wildlife and communities thrive, and where the natural world is cared for as their ancestors did.

  • Project Jonah New Zealad

    Project Jonah is New Zealand's leading marine mammal conservation organization, best known for training and deploying volunteer teams to respond to whale and dolphin strandings around the country's coastline. They also run public education campaigns and advocacy work to reduce the threats facing cetaceans in New Zealand waters.

    Only One is an action platform for the planet that mobilizes millions of people to win global campaigns, funds ocean and climate solutions, and tells stories that spark change. Their philanthropically funded work focuses on supporting and amplifying partner efforts to restore ocean health and unlock the ocean's potential as a climate solution, using campaigns designed to accelerate policy change.
